“JOY IN JESUS!”

Psalms 137-144

137 O Lord, you are righteous, and your regulations are fair.138 Your laws are perfect and completely trustworthy.139 I am overwhelmed with indignation, for my enemies have disregarded your words.140 Your promises have been thoroughly tested; that is why I love them so much.141 I am insignificant and despised, but I don't forget your commandments.142 Your justice is eternal, and your instructions are perfectly true.143 As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.144 Your laws are always right; help me to understand them so I may live.

Prayer from today’s Psalms:

Father, your word tells me that you are ALWAYS righteous and fair, your words are perfect and can be trusted beyond anything else in this world! You have proven yourself over and over and over again from Genesis to Revelation and your promises are pure and perfect in every way. When the pressures of life overwhelm me, and try to weigh me down and temp me to doubt or quit, I can always find hope and joy in your word; your word/laws are always right and will guide me in the right direction as to where I am to go, what I am to do and strength me to carry out your daily plan for me.                                                                                                                                                                       The joy of the Lord is my strength and I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me Thank you! Amen and Amen.

Wonderful Words!

Psalms 119: 129-136

129 Your laws are wonderful. No wonder I obey them!130 The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.131 I pant with expectation, longing for your commands.132 Come and show me your mercy, as you do for all who love your name.133 Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.134 Ransom me from the oppression of evil people; then I can obey your commandments.135 Look upon me with love; teach me your decrees.136 Rivers of tears gush from my eyes because people disobey your instructions.

• Ø Your laws are wonderful. (Awesome, Contagious, Joyful, Life Giving, Yummy- I love, love, love, love, love your Word Father!!)
• Ø The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand. (Simple – That’s ME!)
• Ø Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil. (I am reminded of the verse I quote almost daily, “Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path”- if we renew our mind daily and seek Jesus first, we CAN overcome evil throughout our day!)
• Ø Look upon me with love; teach me your decrees. (Thank you, Jesus!)
• Ø Rivers of tears gush from my eyes because people disobey your instructions. (Rivers of tears should gush from my eyes, but God forgive me, they don’t. It breaks my heart to see people being so disrespectful of Jesus and I know it grieves the Holy Spirit of God; I also believe this verse does not mean “literally” that I am expected to shed tears all the time, but I should be more sensitive to the heart of Jesus and desire to feel what He feels inside my soul. Father create in me a more sensitive and caring heart to pray for those in disobedience). 

Psalms 121-144 -Lesson #6

  121 Don't leave me to the mercy of my enemies, for I have done what is just and right.122 Please guarantee a blessing for me. Don't let the arrogant oppress me!123 My eyes strain to see your rescue, to see the truth of your promise fulfilled.124 I am your servant; deal with me in unfailing love, and teach me your decrees.125 Give discernment to me, your servant; then I will understand your laws.126 Lord, it is time for you to act, for these evil people have violated your instructions.127 Truly, I love your commands more than gold, even the finest gold.128 Each of your commandments is right. That is why I hate every false way.

 121 Don't leave me to the mercy of my enemies, for I have done what is just and right.122 Please guarantee a blessing for me. Don't let the arrogant oppress me!123 My eyes strain to see your rescue, to see the truth of your promise fulfilled.124 I am your servant; deal with me in unfailing love, and teach me your decrees.125 Give discernment to me, your servant; then I will understand your laws.126 Lord, it is time for you to act, for these evil people have violated your instructions.127 Truly, I love your commands more than gold, even the finest gold.128 Each of your commandments is right. That is why I hate every false way.

• Ø Please guarantee a blessing for me. (Obedience=Blessings. We do our part to obey and act upon what the Holy Spirit tells us and we will be blessed. I don’t believe we can expect blessings to flow when we are living in sin or against Gods will. We cannot come to God only when we “want something” from Him-Jesus is not someone you go to just when you’re in trouble or you have a “wish list”. Give Him your heart and He will give you the guaranteed blessings).
• Ø My eyes strain to see your rescue, to see the truth of your promise fulfilled. (I strive, daily to serve and live for you Jesus-one day at a time, each day is new and I pray and expect your unfailing love and protection as I go throughout my day at work and home. When fiery darts, lies, and worries cross my mind from satan, I can use your word and take every thought captive to your obedience; renew my mind with the word of God).
• Ø I am your servant; deal with me in unfailing love, and teach me your decrees. (Help me to give the unfailing and unconditional love to others as you give to me – mercy triumphs over judgment-fill me with the fruit of your Holy Spirit – Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, and Self-Control).
• Ø Give discernment to me. (I crave your discernment as I read your word, speak Holy Spirit I am listening – teach me and help me act upon what you show me; let me have daily opportunities to share your truth with others, via personal touch and fellowship or through the Salt Shakin Sister Outreach Creations).
• Ø Truly, I love your commands more than gold, even the finest gold. (Change my heart to treasure your word and joy more than fine jewelry and gold- your word is priceless! Help me every day to put you first, this can be a challenge as it is so easy to get “into” the Salt Shakin Sister creation mode!)
• Ø Each of your commandments is right. That is why I hate every false way. This is one time we can HATE something and be in Gods perfect will!! Love Jesus, Love the person that is living in sin, NOT the sinful actions. God help us with this one, as it is so easy to judge people from the outward appearance, and we are quick to do this; it’s almost an automatic reactional thought process and we must fight against this every single day! 

The following portions of today’s verses are for those days when we feel everyone and everything is against us. Thank you, Jesus, that when we stay in fellowship with you and entertain Godly thoughts and we are careful to guard what we watch, hear and say, we can have the victory over satan and anything that comes our way! 

    Don't leave me to the mercy of my enemies.

    Lord, it is time for you to act, for these evil people have violated your instructions.
